OTRD is seeking a full-time Travel Counselor to provide information and assistance to visitors at the Colbert Travel Information Center in Bryan County, OK.
OTRD provides matching contributions to employees' retirement plans, 11 holidays, and 15 days of annual and sick leave a year.
OTRD also offers a comprehensive benefits package, including a benefit allowance to offset the cost of insurance premiums for employees and their eligible dependents.
The hourly pay for this position is $15.

Job DescriptionBasic PurposeUnder general supervision, the incumbent provides general information about tourism for the state of Oklahoma.
This may include, but is not limited to, meeting and greeting customers for face-to-face interaction, telephone customer service, and the processing of transactions.
Typical Functions Responds to requests for informational materials; research and fill requests for those requesting such materials and information; ensure an adequate inventory of materials concerning the service.
Assists in the gift shop for selling and stocking items.
Maintains inventory or other records; purchases necessary materials; sets up displays; maintains cleanliness of work area and sells merchandise.
Receives customers or visitors; answers telephone calls; secures and provides requested information; provides services, or directs the request to those who can provide the customer with the information or services.
Receives requests for information and services and provides such services using advanced technological equipment.
Conducts tours, schedules programs, and group tours Performs related work as assigned.
Education and ExperienceOne (1) year of experience in public contact work, in a customer service-related field, or general office clerical work; OR an equivalent combination of education and experience.
Knowledge, Skills, Abilities, and Competencies Knowledge of methods and procedures concerning public contact.
Knowledge of computer applications such as Windows, Outlook, Word, and Excel; perform basic computer tasks; and communicate effectively, both orally and in writing.
Knowledge of effective customer service techniques and telephone etiquette.
Must have a friendly attitude, empathy, problem-solving, and time management skills.
Knowledge of the properties operated by the Department and the ability to relay that to the public.

The check can be for multiple reasons such as signing bonus, supplies, etc. The victim will be instructed to deposit the check and use the money for any of these reasons and then instructed to send the remaining funds to the fraudster. The check will bounce and the victim is left responsible.
